📖 Life of St. Cunegundes

Cunegundes (Kunigunde) was born around 975 and married the future Emperor Henry II of the Holy Roman Empire. Together they lived a life of remarkable piety, founding churches and monasteries, including the Diocese of Bamberg. After Henry's death in 1024, she retired to the convent she had founded there.

She is remembered for her charity, humility, and virginity within marriage — a testimony to consecrated love in royal life. She was canonized in 1200 and is patron of Luxembourg and several dioceses. Her husband is honored as St. Henry, feast July 13.
