Novena for First Communion – Day 6: Intimacy with God
Pray for growing in deeper intimacy with God through the Holy Eucharist.
Today's Focus: Intimacy with God
Today we pray for growing in deeper intimacy with God through the Holy Eucharist. We ask God to help us and all who are preparing for their First Holy Communion to grow in intimacy with Him.
Prayer for Day 6
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Opening Prayer:
Dear Lord, we thank You and praise You for the most precious gift of the Holy Eucharist. We ask You to bless all those who are preparing to receive Your Body and Blood for the first time.
Prayer of Intimacy with God:
You long for each of us to grow in deeper union with You. You wish for each of us to be nourished by Your Precious Body and Blood, and You allow us to receive You in the Eucharist each day.
Daily Intention:
Today we pray for growing in deeper intimacy with God through the Holy Eucharist. We ask God to help us and all who are preparing for their First Holy Communion to grow in intimacy with Him.
Scripture Reading:
"Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me." (John 15:4)
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be
Closing Prayer:
Please assist all who are preparing to make their First Holy Communion, and we particularly ask today that You help us and all who are preparing for their First Holy Communion to grow in intimacy with You! Help us to devote ourselves more fully to You each day. Help us to grow in holiness at every opportunity in our lives. And I especially ask in this novena (mention your intentions here). Lord, hear our prayers!
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Reflection for Today
Today we pray for growing in deeper intimacy with God through the Holy Eucharist. The Eucharist is the most intimate way we can be united with Jesus on this earth. In John 15:4, Jesus speaks of abiding in Him, and this is exactly what happens when we receive the Eucharist - we abide in Him and He abides in us. This intimate union is not just a spiritual reality, but a physical one as well, for we literally receive Jesus' Body and Blood into our own bodies. This intimacy transforms us from within, making us more like Christ. The more we receive the Eucharist worthily, the deeper our intimacy with God becomes. Let us pray that all who are preparing for their First Communion will come to understand and experience this deep intimacy with Jesus through the Eucharist.
