Behold This Heart
Jesus appeared to Saint Margaret Mary and showed her His Heart, saying: "Behold this Heart which has so loved men that it has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming itself, to testify to them its love."
"And in return I receive from the greater number nothing but ingratitude by reason of their irreverence and sacrileges, and by the coldness and contempt which they show Me in this Sacrament of Love."
"But what I feel most keenly is that it is hearts which are consecrated to Me that treat Me thus."
The Sacred Heart of Jesus is not merely a symbol but the physical heart of our Lord, united to His divine Person. When we honor the Sacred Heart, we honor Jesus Himself and His infinite love for us.
This devotion calls us to respond to love with love, to console the Heart of Jesus wounded by our sins and ingratitude, and to make reparation for the offenses committed against Him.
